Collective Worship is an integral part of our school ethos.  It reflects our school vision and values and Christian foundation. It is invitational allowing all to engage whilst allowing those of other faiths and none to be included. Times of reflection and prayer are built into worship allowing children and adults to participate or quietly reflect as they wish.  Worship has variety involving music, film, pictures, liturgy, silence, story, drama and reflection. This contributes to the spiritual development of all children.

Our collective worship not only focuses upon key Christian festivals such as Christmas, Easter and Lent, but also provides the opportunity for our children to think about significant festivals and events of other key religions (e.g. Diwali, Eid, Hanukah and Chinese New Year). When possible, the children hear from leaders of other faiths.

We enjoy a close relationship with our parish church, St Mary’s Church in Wargrave.  The local vicar and/or members of the parish regularly lead acts of worship in the school. We also hold annual Christmas and Easter school services at St Mary’s Church.

Our weekly themes aim to support the children to understand the Christian vision and values of the school whilst encouraging them to develop their own thoughts around Christian faith and their understanding of other faiths. It often inspires them to compassionate action through the support of local, national and international charities. It also supports our care for the environment projects.
