PTA
The Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) is an organisation of parents who volunteer to fundraise for the school and arrange social events for parents and children at the school. All the parents of the school are automatically members of the PTA and can get involved to help in as much or as little as they chose.
The PTA committee currently comprises of the following:
Chair –
Treasurer –
Secretary –
The PTA and their committee meet regularly with the Head Teacher, to discuss the fundraising events they have planned and to develop new and interesting ideas for fundraising. Meetings are informal and are as much sociable as pro-active.
Last year the PTA raised money to support a large variety of projects at the school. The events are planned for both children and adults – the children’s disco being a firm favourite with all our pupils. The Victorian May Fayre was a fantastic occasion that was a major part in our 150th birthday celebrations. Funds have been used towards the building of low-level flower beds; the construction of a bug garden – fondly known as ‘Buggingham Palace’; paying for coach transport to swimming lessons and funding the school trip to the Pantomime. The PTA also donated a substantial amount of money towards the fund-raising initiative to improve the school sports field.
