Governor Information

Our Governing Body consists of 12 volunteers, appointed or elected from different backgrounds to reflect the many interest groups in our school.  Following reconstitution the Governing Body from January 2018 will consist of 2 Parent Governors, 2 Foundation Governors, 1 Local Authority Governor, 5 Co-opted Governors, the Headteacher, and a Staff Governor.

As Governors we have three main responsibilities:

  1. Strategic planning and development of the school.
  2. Responsible for the careful monitoring and evaluation of the school’s progress and Christian character.
  3. To act as the ‘critical friend’ to maintain a good working relationship with the staff and the Headteacher, to strike a balance between support and challenge.

We share a common aim which is to ensure that the children at Crazies Hill have the best education possible.

We meet as a minimum twice a term, once as a full Governing Body, and once per term in our committees. We have structured the Governing Body into 3 separate committees:

Finance & Buildings
Staffing & Curriculum
Parents, Community & SIAMS

The Governors have specific roles within their various Committee groups and agree policies, set and monitor the budget, have overall responsibility for all staffing decisions and ensure that the National Curriculum is taught and targets are set.

The Governing Body is always keen to receive comments and feedback from the parents, appreciating as they do that the success of the school relies heavily upon an inclusive approach to the education of your children.
