Crazies Hill CE Primary School’s vision is based on Mathew 12 verse 33-35, ‘A tree is known by its fruit; people by their actions’. Our vision at Crazies Hill is that our ‘fruit’ are children and adults who have the resilience to weather life’s ups and downs, respect for themselves, others and their environment and the ability to build and maintain good relationships with all in their community. All of our aims, plans and policies are written with this vision in mind.

Our Aims

To provide a nurturing environment with academic excellence at its heart and to develop caring, resilient members of society with strong values enabling them to thrive in our modern British society. Our curriculum model aims to teach children about our values in every academic subject and wider experience. Our school prides itself in valuing everyone as an individual, therefore quality first teaching is inclusive and all children achieve.

Spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development, along with a well-planned and structured programme of Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) based on British values (maybe we need to find a way to mention these too) underpins all of our work and our values are woven through all the planned learning journeys. These journeys result in a rich reservoir of knowledge that is flexible and transferable.

We have grouped the skills we aim to develop throughout a child’s journey through our school.

We have selected some conceptual ideas that we feel are essential knowledge to build up the skills we have identified.

Our curriculum is then planned around these concepts and encouraging progression from year to year.
